Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those . . who could not hear the music.

Arvin's Despedida

Arvin will be leaving soon for Hong Kong. Enough said that we are going to miss him. Although Se and I are looking forward to a Hong Kong trip next year with our potential tour guide. At least we'll have a place to crash at when we are there. :P

Dinner was at Jay-Js at Ortigas Home Depot. Then we had dessert at Iceberg's Metrowalk (that's the option when Starbucks is cramped with people).

Seaside Dinner 06/13/2008

The irony. A very satisfying and fun dinner. A quite emotional ending

“Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning.”

Endings are just another form of beginnings.

I was tagged! (and finding an excuse to do something else . . .)

       I was tagged by Rose.

The Rules:

I. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.

II. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules.

III. At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.

IV. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

10 random facts/ habits about me:

1. I am not fond of eating fruits. We always have fruits at home but I rarely eat them. I love anything strawberry-flavored – strawberry shakes, strawberry ice cream, strawberry shortcakes, strawberries and cream frappucino – but I’m not fond of the fruit itself.

2. Whenever I buy books, I sign my name at the upper right corner of the first page this way [ - ayen - ] and I put the date when I bought the book. This lets me know how long that book has been with me. I also don’t remove the tag price so that I know how much ...

Kamayan at Kainan sa Palaisdaan sa Bay

I do not even know if I got the name right considering it was my second time to eat there. The restaurant is located at Bay, Laguna where it serves Filipino dishes at much lower prices compared to the grill restos here at Manila. The food was really good but the service was terrible. We sat at two nipa huts as we were a big group. Both groups were served the orders for the drinks and appetizers. But somehow, as our group were continually served with food, the other group wasn't. As it turned out, they still had to wait for the rice to be cooked and they didn't even tell us about it. Anyways, I still found the food delicious especially the pata tim. I'll be posting a review soon on my food blog.

IV-Andrew Outing

*We visited our old high school building and it has changed a lot. The laboratories (our classrooms then) are now speech lab rooms. Sosyal! Parang mga call center ang rooms.
*We used 3 cars. One car was all out for women empowerment – sabi nga ng mga nakasakay dun. :)
*Dapat pa bang iasa ang pamimili kay bes (Mang boy)/ On the down side: walang asin, paminta, tinapay, palaman at chaser. Positivi side; We learn to make most of what we have.
(Much to Whamos and I’s amusement, hahaha!)
*Nakapaos pala ang sobrang videoke – ngayon alam ko na nag kantang ‘Tunay na Mahal’ – btw, I have them on videos, I’ll be posting soon.

Calirana Resort (Caliraya Lake, Laguna)

We had an overnight stay at this resort over the weekend. Caliraya Lake is situated at Lumban, Laguna which is about two-and-a-half hours drive from Manila. One just needs to follow the road from Calamba to Los Banos which leads all the way to Pagsanjan. From Pagsanjan, the place is just 7kms more. The boat ride lasted for about 30 minutes as the resort was probably at the farthest part of the lake. We passed by several islands wherein there were some houses built on it (bahay bakasyunan siguro ng mga mayayaman!) I can say the place was really far from the urban part of Laguna. Both of my phones didn't have any signal reception for two days!

The lake was really beautiful though. :)

Mt. Pinatubo trekking

- An hour ride in a 4x4 on rough terrains, which was an adventure on itself.
- 3-hour trek where the first part was mostly sand, 2nd part was sand, rocks and water, 3rd part was rocks, water and foliage
- It was exhausting and demanding but finally seeing the crater was definitely worth it!
- And I really enjoyed taking a dip on the water. It was sooo cold yet very relaxing.
