for everyone
It's Saturday and I'm at work (still several things to finish, argh!) But anyway, I'm happy because I was able to go to the Salcedo weekend market at Salcedo Park. I convinced Kate yesterday that we go there for lunch and I was actually quite excited about it.

The Salcedo park's parking lot (or at least I think it was the parking lot) was converted into a market were several people have placed or rented stalls to sell their products. This is open every Saturdays from around 7am until I think around 3pm. It's different from the ordinary market because they sell mostly their own cooked food or fresh produce from their own farms. The unusual things I saw were: paella negra, Chinese lumpia, chicken's eggs still on its early stage (those which do not have shells and are still inside the chicken - being sold for P250 per kilo), fruits like grapefruit and persimmon and Kalinga brown rice. I guess it's a haven for those who love food and looks out for unusual things or for those who have the money and can easily pay for home made cooked foods (which are quite pricey). Cooked foods include the typical Filipino dishes, Italian food, pasta, paella, and Chinese dishes. Organic vegetables were also being sold as well as fruits which I'm sure come straight from the farm. My eyes enjoyed the sights. But I’m a person who pretty much enjoys seeing various food ingredients. What’s also nice about the place was most stalls offer free taste of their products. I got to sample some sausages and rice dishes.

I would probably go there next time with my dad which I'm sure would appreciate those things as he also likes to cook.

I bought garlic bread with parsley (for Kevin as he likes those) and a wooden spoon (surprisingly, my very first). Kate and I share a lunch of inihaw na tilapia (it was fresh anyway) and Chinese lumpia. It was delicious.

I didn’t take many pictures. Nakakahiya kze, tanong na nga ako ng tanong tungkol sa mga paninda nila tapos di naman ako bumibili. Hahaha. :)
